Tangerine launches eSIM for fast mobile activation

Save On Award Winning nbn® - See Plans

Tangerine, a leading provider of mobile and nbn® services throughout Australia, has enhanced it's mobile offering by introducing eSIM.

eSIM technology allows users to activate their devices quickly and easily via a QR code scan – removing the need to visit a physical store or wait for a SIM card to be delivered.

Starting Thursday 2 November, Tangerine is giving customers access to the future of mobile connectivity, enjoying easy activation and enhanced user experiences.

Andrew Branson, CEO of Tangerine, shared his enthusiasm about the company’s latest product offering, “we are committed to providing our customers with leading solutions that enhance their mobile experience. Our new eSIM capability allows our customers to connect seamlessly and conveniently without the need to collect a SIM from a store or wait for it to arrive in the mail. No more never-ending searches to find a pin to open the SIM card tray!”

“Our eSIM capabilities extend beyond hassle-free and fast activation – they also provide customers with a host of other benefits: the ability to use multiple phone numbers on a single eSIM-enabled device, no fiddly SIM swaps when travelling overseas and improved security features. eSIM technology also contributes to environmental conservation by minimising plastic waste and lowering the overall carbon footprint.”

Branson added, “Our eSIM product is designed to significantly improve the customer experience and onboarding process. We believe providing the ability to customers to activate their mobile service quickly after purchase will transform and improve how our customers communicate and stay connected in today's fast-paced world.”

“Additionally, we understand the importance of flexibility when choosing a mobile package – that’s why all of our mobile plans are no lock-in contract, include 7-day tech support, feature a 500GB or 1000GB data bank and offer customers great reach with our mobile coverage area covering more than 98% of the Australian population.” Mr Branson concluded.

Tangerine uses the Telstra Wholesale Mobile Network, whose coverage area reaches more than 98.8% of the Australian population with 3G*, 4G or 5G and covers more than 1.6 million square kilometres of the Australian landmass.

*At end June 2024 3G network services will cease.
